SEASON OPENING DATES

18th March – Self-contained accommodation this includes Holiday Hire Caravans, Inspire Pods and Hex Pods.
14th March – Open to all other accommodation.

Touring Bookings

We offer 4 types of touring pitch for your holiday in the Lakes.

Hardstanding pitch. These are without electric.
Hook-up only. These are on hardstanding with electric.
Standard. These are fully serviced with a water tap, a drain for grey waste and hook-up.
Superior. As standard but with guaranteed lake view, 16-amp hook-up and a picnic bench.

Set on mainly level terraces our touring pitches vary greatly in size and outlook. Some pitches have lake views whilst some are among trees and hedges. We offer pitches that are close to the amenities or some which involve an uphill walk from the lower terraces. If you are unsure, please contact reception where we will be happy to offer guidance on a suitable pitch. Strong steel pegs are required for awnings. (available to purchase in our park shop) Hardstanding pitches are gravel.

CARAVAN ACCOMMODATION FOR HIRE

For those looking for the freedom of self-catering we offer fully serviced holiday caravans for hire. These are generally let on a weekly basis starting on Saturday.

Our caravans come with central heating, double glazing, fridge freezer, microwave, large flat screen TV with free-sat and DVD player, balcony and picnic bench. Cooking utensils, duvets and bed linen is provided but please bring your own towels and tea-towels.

We accept pets in some of our caravans. Two medium sized dogs’ maximum, sorry no dangerous breeds are accepted. Ramped access available to Hire Caravan No. 3.

CAMPING PODS

These small timber huts feature a wraparound roof, well insulated with sheep’s wool in the walls, and with a special foil layer under the tiles to help keep summer temperatures in check. There’s good head height and plenty of light from the double-glazed lockable French doors which, together with a small high rear window, provide a good through draft. Also provided is an electric socket, heater and lighting. These units do not have beds and you would bring all the necessities of camping minus the tent. Car parking is available for each pod and we have pet friendly options in this range. Toilet, shower and pot wash facilities are a short walk from the CastlePods/Family and Standard Pods.

CASTLEPODS

Our CastlePods sleep a maximum of two adults and two children. They feature a double bed and a bunk-bed with mattresses but linen, blankets/duvets must be provided by the guest. There is a heater, two twin electric sockets with USB charging ports, lights, picnic bench and decking area. Sorry dogs are not permitted.

Inspire Range Pods

New to our range of glamping is the ‘Inspire’ range. If you’re looking for a bit more comfort to our Standard/Family Pods this is maybe the choice for you. Tastefully furnished with double patio doors opening onto a wooden decked area with outside seating to enjoy the great outdoors. Featuring a made-up bed, sofa, large flat screen TV, kettle, toaster, fridge, microwave, shower and WC this pod offers our ultimate pod experience. Bedding is provided and car parking next to the unit. Sorry dogs are not permitted in both Inspire units.

Unit 1: Skiddaw, sleeps two adults, one double bed.
Unit 2: Helvellyn, sleeps two adults and two children, one double bed and one sofa bed.

Please note: Situated on our touring caravan lower terraces there is an uphill walk of approximately 300 metres to the park facilities.

HEXPODS

Our signature range of glamping.

Located on the site of England’s earliest recorded glamping site, our Hex Pods offer a unique glamping experience here in the heart of the Lake District.

Each pod provides our most comfortable offering featuring a choice of layout, colour scheme and even one with a bath option. Underfloor heating, balcony, shower wc, kitchen, TV. Pets permitted in some units.

CAMPING BOOKING UPDATE

Catering for families and couples only*. The campground is sheltered and has both sloping and level areas. Views are available of lakes and fells from some areas of the field but not all. Cars may be parked close to the tent depending on ground conditions. Sorry but no electric hook-up points are available for camping.

Due to COVID-19 our normal first come first served policy has been suspended, to book a tent pitch you will need to pre-book, this isn’t available online so please e-mail us at info@castlerigg.co.uk with your name, full postal address, contact mobile number along with the number of adults, children, pets, cars and tents your booking would for.
