Touring Bookings

Set on mainly level terraces our touring pitches vary greatly in size and outlook. Some pitches have lake views whilst some are among trees and hedges. We offer pitches that are close to the amenities or some which involve an uphill walk from the lower terraces.

Catering for families and couples only. The campground is sheltered and has both sloping and level areas. Views are available of lakes and fells from some areas of the field but not all. Cars may be parked close to the tent depending on ground conditions. Sorry but no electric hook-up points are available for camping.

Campers Kitchen: The “Campers Kitchen” provides guests an indoor heated amenity in which to prepare meals. Equipped with Seating, washing up basins, twin hobs, microwave, (both 50p tokens) and free use of toasters and kettle. Ice pack freezing and Wifi are available at no charge.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT TAKE ADVANCED RESERVATIONS FOR CAMPING. We operate on a first come first served basis for families and couples only. SORRY NO GROUPS PERMITTED.

Accommodation for Hire

For those looking for the freedom of self-catering we offer fully serviced holiday caravans for hire. These are generally let on a weekly basis starting on Saturday.

Our caravans come with central heating, double glazing, fridge freezer, microwave, large flat screen TV with dvd player, balcony and picnic bench. Cooking utensils are provided but please bring your own bedlinen and towels.
We accept pets in some of our caravans. Two medium sized dogs maximum, sorry no dangerous breeds are accepted.

Camping Pods

At Castlerigg Hall we have 5 Camping Pods and 2 CastlePods for hire. A camping pod is a Small timber hut with a wraparound roof, all very well insulated with sheep’s wool in the walls, and with a special foil layer under the tiles to help keep summer temperatures in check. There’s good head height and plenty of light from the double-glazed lockable French doors which, together with a small high rear window, provide a good through draft. Also provided is a electric socket and lighting. All in all, it’s a brilliant substitute for a tent! Our new CastlePods feature a double bed and a bunk-bed with mattresses but linen, blankets/duvets must be provided by the guest. There is a heater, two twin electric sockets with USB charging ports, lights, picnic bench and decking area.
